Peer Mentors

Peer Mentors at DMS are student leaders that have been recommended by their teachers to help their fellow peers.

  • Peer Mentors must have the following qualities: kindness, helpfulness, sensitivity and good problem-solving skills.
  • Peer Mentors are involved in mentoring and tutoring younger students, community service, and other school-related programs.
  • The benefits for the school to have Peer Mentors include increased problem-solving skills, increased self-esteem and decreased student conflicts, thus allowing students more time for learning and teachers more time for teaching.
  • For more information, you may contact the Durand Middle School counselor.
